We were thrilled to have had the opportunity to collaborate with George Barnsdale recently, a company whose 140-year legacy of craftsmanship, community impact, and innovation in timber has truly set a benchmark in the industry.
To mark this incredible milestone, The Backroom Agency worked alongside George Barnsdale to design and produce a special commemorative newspaper that captures the essence of their rich history, celebrates their incredible achievements, and honours the people who have made it all possible.
From the moment we began the project, we knew it would require a delicate balance of tradition and modernity – much like George Barnsdale’s own journey. Their commitment to sustainable, high-quality craftsmanship, alongside their forward-thinking approach to innovation, provided the perfect backdrop for the design. We aimed to create a piece that not only tells the story of their past but also reflects their bright future.
The commemorative newspaper features archival images, detailed accounts of key milestones, and personal stories from the team behind the company’s success. Our goal was to bring this history to life in a way that felt both celebratory and personal. We also worked closely with the team to ensure that the design echoed the company’s values of sustainability, heritage, and craftsmanship – key elements that have shaped their 140-year legacy.
What made this project even more special was the way in which George Barnsdale has always viewed design and craftsmanship as integral to their brand identity. The result is a beautifully printed newspaper that not only tells a story but celebrates the people, passion, and innovation that continue to drive the business forward.
